LUPIN BERET

 Berets are absolutely everywhere this fall and what's not to love?  They keep your head nice and toasty warm and can stylishly hide a bad hair day.  Win, win we say!  Lupin is made out of ultra gorgeous, soft and drapey Rowan Kid Classic (love this stuff!), but you can substitute your favorite aran weight yarn.  The cables aren't too difficult, so it's suitable for all skill levels, and the seed stitch pattern keeps it interesting.

MULBERRY CABLE BERET

 

Mulberry is our answer to staying stylish while keeping very, very warm this winter! Ours is made out of superwarm and snuggly Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky, a beautiful mix of wool and mohair, but you can use your favorite Bulky weight yarn.  It knits up quickly using larger needles, it's the perfect weekend project.

HERE COMES SUMMER!

Ok, we know, we know, it's taken us awhile to get our new Summer designs out, but they're almost ready.  Here's a sneak peek at Hyacinth, one of three new Spring/Summer designs coming this week. 

 

SNEAK PEEK AT SNOWFLAKE

Here's a sneak peek at one of the three new designs we're unveiling this week.  Snowflake is a heavy weight sweater knit in three color fair isle.  We got the idea for it while attending an Olympic Torch run ceremony where we saw a ton of beautiful handknit sweaters, so we designed one too! 

 
  
We like the red and white, but it would look great in greys or browns too!  It should be up in a couple of days!

CALDER MITTENS

Now they're not quite so nameless.  Because of the celtic braided cable, I decided to name them after my Scottish grandfather and Irish grandmother.  They were designed with winter warmth in mind, slightly longer cuffs to keep wrists warm, and a dense seed stitch palm to keep hands nice and toasty!

They are suitable for both men and women, and knit up in any worsted weight wool super-quick for those last-minute Christmas gifts that we all have!

NAMELESS MITTENS!

So this year, my daughter has decided that all teacher gifts must be handcrafted by, you guessed it, yours truly.  Socks for the schoolteacher, cowl for the singing teacher and mittens for the piano teacher.  I whipped these babies up a couple of days ago, but am still at a loss for the name.  Since they're unisex, I'm hesitant to give them our usual floral name, so as of yet they are the nameless cabled mittens!

 

Pattern should be out later today.  Hopefully they'll have a name by then!
  
  

AZALEA COWL

The Azalea Cowl is the perfect project to use up those precious skeins of luxury yarns.  Here we've used some yummy Malabrigo Silky Merino, one of the softest and most luxurious yarns around.  Whatever yarn you choose, make sure it has a nice drape and is soft next to the skin.  

  

 Azalea knits up quickly in a beautiful lattice lace pattern, making it the a perfect little luxury Christmas gift.  The hard part will be parting with it, better make two!

Well, we've finally rewritten the darn thing!  Holly is a beautiful cable sweater knit in the round from the bottom up.  It has a bit of a tunic shape and a graceful boatneck.  A gorgeous winter knit.
